About Us

Bizprotect website is a unique business sector whistle-blowing website, which enables business representatives to inform about corruption risks and other problems encountered in business, while ensuring their safety. This website uses a high-power information system for protection of reports being submitted. The combination of programs (TOR) encrypts the submitted information and therefore protects it from unauthorized interference. Whistleblowers can report anonymously.

Businesses can benefit from this website in the following ways:

1. Report on corruption risks,

2. Ask for legal advice,

3. Represent their ideas,

4. Get cognizant of news (e.g. latest legislative changes).

The website has been created in July, 2017 in the frameworks of the “Evidence-based Advocacy for Reform” project implemented by the Armenian Lawyers’ Association, Union of Advanced Technology Enterprises  and the European Business Association, which in its tern has been implemented within the "Support to SME Development in Armenia" (SMEDA) project (co-funded by the European Union and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and implemented by GIZ Private Sector Development in South Caucasus Programme). SMEDA is part of the EU4Business and EU4Innovation initiatives of the European Union.

Bizprotect website is managed by the Armenian Lawyers’ Association, the Secretariat of the CSO’s Anti-Corruption Coalition of Armenia. Since October 15, 2018, the website is operated on the personal means of the Armenian Lawyers’ Association, without any support from donors.

Bizprotect website was included in the "EU CivicTech4Democracy Handbook".  By presenting examples of innovative civic tech initiatives in their respective regions, countries and categories, this aims to increase the visibility of the “civic tech” movement among traditional actors in democracy and human rights advocacy. This publication will also be used by EU Delegations across the world as a resource to help people to connect and exchange good practices in “technology that works for Democracy”, while cooperating to defend fundamental freedoms online and offline.[1]

Bizprotect website was presented at the 4th Eastern Partnership Business Forum during the B2Bs.[2]

Bizprotect website, mainly its news sections, has been used as the main tool for the advocacy campaign from October 2018 till October 2019 in the frameworks of the “Armenia: Promoting Anti-Corruption Conduct and Reforms” project, implemented by the Washington based Center for International Private Enterprise (CIPE), the Armenian Lawyers’ Association, the Corporate Governance Center and the Yerevan Chamber of Commerce and Industry with the Financial Support from National Endowment for Democracy (NED). The main objective of the project was the introduction of the Anti-Corruption Compliance Standards within the Armenian business community and to disseminate standards of corporate governance and ethical values in Armenia.
